- Certificate: CE-IVD
- Description: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a membrane protein that plays a central role in transmitting signals that promote cell growth and proliferation. Its tyrosine kinase (TK) domain activates several downstream effectors that lead to activation of the Ras-Raf-MAPK pathway. Overexpression and oncogenic mutations that constitutively activate the TK domain of EGFR have been found in various solid tumors.
- Sample material: DNA isolated tumor biopsies, paraffin-embedded sections (FFPE), or fresh frozen tumors
- EGFR mutation is detected on FAM channel and IC on the HEX/VIC channel.
- Validated on: ABI (7300, 7500/Fast, 7900HT, StepOne, StepOne Plus); Rotor-Gene (Q, 3000, 6000); LightCycler 480; Cobas® 4800, Cobas® z480; Bio-Rad CFX96
